How long does Interlibrary Loan take?

There are many factors that affect each Interlibrary Loan transaction however, for the majority of items it generally takes 5 – 7 days. Locally held materials may arrive sooner. More obscure material may take longer. YOU CAN SPEED the processing of your request by filling out the Interlibrary Loan Request form completely and accurately. What about renewals?

Selecting the “View/Renew Checked Out Items” options on the ILLiad Main Menu can make renewal requests for ILL books. Please check the ILLiad sticker first on the front of the item you wish to renew to ensure that the book is eligible for renewal (not all are). The ILL staff will be contacting the lending library regarding your renewal. We will contact you ONLY if the lending library DENIES your request. If your request is denied, you will have to return the book immediately; however, you may place a request for the ILL office to obtain a copy of the material from another library.
